Appointments

Not all nurse clinics are available to book online therefore you may need to call 01603 251600 to book.  Some nurse appointments can be dealt with via telephone or video consultation - the receptionist will let you know when you book if your request for a telephone or video consultation is suitable for your reason for needing an appointment. 

Nursing Service 'Book on Day' Clinics 

Every morning and afternoon, Monday - Friday.  To book one of these appointments, you need to phone on the day.  

  • Emergency contraception
  • Cystitis (urine infection)
  • Sore throats, headaches, colds and flu
  • Cuts and grazes
  • Bone injuries and sprains
  • Hayfever, bites and stings
  • Diarrhoea and vomiting
  • Burns and scolds
  • Rashes
  • Worsening asthma
  • Support and advice

Nurse Appointments A (pre-bookable)

Available daily at various times.  For certain conditions, patients are encouraged to book an appointment (this reduces possible waiting times). 
  • Emergency contraception
  • Repeat contraceptive pills
  • Contraceptive injections
  • Routine immunisations
  • Hayfever
  • Wound dressings
  • Suture/clip removals 

Nurse Appointments B - Sexual Health

This service is available most days to all MALE and FEMALE registered patients.  All our services are confidential, non-judgemental and open to all.  We can offer support, advice and STI (sexually transmitted infection) screening.   These are 15 minute appointments. 

  • Contraceptive advice
  • Contraception - all methods
  • Emergency contraception 
  • Cervical smears
  • Hepatitis B vaccinations for men who have sex with men
  • Testing for most sexually transmitted infections and guidance for those requiring further testing
  • Treatment for STIs
  • Safer sex advice 
  • HIV testing and advice
  • HPV vaccinations
  • Chlamydia testing for men and women
  • Any other issues related to sexual health 

Health Care Assistant

This service is available most days, at various times, Monday - Friday.  

  • Wound dressings
  • Suture/clip removals
  • Health checks
  • Lifestyle advice
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Weight monitoring
  • CVD checks
  • Diabetic reviews
  • Seasonal flu vaccines

Specialised Nurse Clinics

  • Asthma clinic
  • Cervical Smear clinics
