Mens Health and Prostate Check Clinic

You have received this direct link as you have have been identified as someone who may benefit from a new NHS initiative.

The initiative is to support early detection of prostate cancer and improve men’s health, and we are inviting you to attend an appointment at the UEA Medical Centre to have a PSA (prostate-specific antigen) blood test.

Your invite has been based on your age, family history or background.

The appointment is a very quick and simple 5 minute blood test and you can book directly in for this specific test using the Accurx link you received on the text message we sent. Alternatively, call us on 01603 251600 to book.

Before booking, please consider carefully when to book your blood test appointment based on the below. Please avoid PSA test if you have/had:

  • urinary infection within 6 weeks
  • urinary retention and/or catheterisation within 2 weeks
  • pelvic procedure, cystoscopy, colonoscopy within 2 weeks
  • sexual activity within 48 hours
  • distance cycling within 48 hours

The PSA result will be unreliable if any of the above have taken place.
